FITNESS PROFESSIONALS
A TPI Fitness Certified professional has the knowledge and tools to design effective conditioning programs for players of all ages and abilities.
Golf presents unique challenges to the body. It is a sport that combines an intermittent high intensity and high skill activity with a history largely void of understanding the benefits of fitness.
A Certified Fitness Professional helps break the myths of what is important for golfers and what it takes to be fit for golf.
GOLF FITNESS – WHAT IS IT?
Golf fitness isn’t about looking like a bodybuilder or the best player on tour. It’s about being fit to play the game at an individualist highest level and doing so without causing injury. It’s about understanding how a body’s limitations can influence proper channels, whether it’s through swing instruction, physical rehabilitation or strength and conditioning exercise. It’s about understanding the latest technology and how technology can be implemented to increase performance.
TPI seeks to educate the playing public on the importance of the body and how it relates to the golf swing
TPI believes golfers will benefit the most from a healthy and efficient body
TPI does not believe in one way to swing a club, rather in an infinite number of swing styles. But, we do believe that there is one efficient way for every player to swing and it is based on what that player can physically do.
About Me
I became very familiar with the weight room and the benefits of strength and agility at a very young age as a high school athlete.
Like a lot of people, during my adult years I found myself bouncing in and out of one gym or another, losing and regaining interest in staying in shape.
Some years back I developed an autoimmune disease called Scleroderma that ultimately destroyed my lungs. In order to survive, I would need to undergo a double lung transplant, but due to the severity of the underlying disease the surgeons were extremely reluctant to go forward with the procedure. With all that said they finally decided to take the chance and proceed only because of my strength and fitness level at that time. ( I guess those days in the gym paid off after all).
After the operation I began the long period of healing. During those months I took the opportunity to educate myself on how to become stronger so as not to squander the second chance at life and the ultimate GIFT given to me. When the time came, I went to work on improving my chance of survival. Along with a personal trainer, ( one whom I still consult and train with to this day on a biweekly basis) I returned to the gym. Through my studies I received certification of Personal Trainer and Nutrition Specialist through the ISSA (International Sport Sciences Association).
After some time in the gym utilizing what I had learned, others in the gym took notice and asked questions of technique and other types of exercises that could further benefit the goals they wanted to achieve. Consulting and training others seemed to just happen naturally.
My passion for golf then led me to the Titliest Performance Institute. There I gained certification on golf specific exercise for the everyday golfer. These specific exercises also translates well to any athlete that uses a rotational movement In his or her sport. E.g., hockey, tennis, baseball and so on. Currently I am studying the ELDOA Method which is a series of specific postures aimed at relieving and increasing blood flow around particular joints and spinal segments.
What I want to do for you.
It doesn’t matter if you are male or female, young or older, if you sit at a desk, work with your hands, or are an aspiring or established athlete; I, along with your will to stride forward, will help make you stronger and more efficient in everyday life with exercise and a knowledge of healthy nutrition.
If you are that golfer that has a thirst for gaining more power and distance on a ball strike or the athlete that utilizes a rotational movement, together we will create a game plan that will increase your power and efficiency for your specific sport.
Things you will need.
1) Athletic foot Apparel.
